Resurrection Play

We have started our practicing for our Resurrection Liturgy for next Thursday - the day before Good Friday.

We are doing our liturgy with Room 4. We are very excited to be making an iMovie and for some of us to have specific lines in our liturgy.

We are going to practice our lines at home this week so we are ready to start filming!!

Will Hall our Duffy Role Model

Today we had a visit from a Duffy Role Model - Will Hall.

We found out that Will Hall played a role on Shortland Street with TK. He was a doctor and one of TK's best mates.

He gave us some great tips for reading and told us 5 things that he loves about reading...

1. Reading is fitness for the brain

2. Reading teachers you about the world around you

3. Reading relaxes you

4. The more you do it the better you get at it

5. Reading increases your imagination

Will has worked hard in his reading and he uses it every day to make sure he knows his lines for his jobs.

He did a role play at Shortland Street with some of the senior kids! There was Kylie (a nurse), Rachel (the CEO), TK (the muscly doctor) and Vinnie (a nurse).

It's Movin' March Day!!

We were very lucky today that we were able to ride our bikes, scooters and rollerblades during lunchtime!

Lets get moving!

Capital E trip

We had so much fun today on our Capital E trip.

We were very lucky we were able to go to 3 shows!

The first show was about Inventions, the second was a circus show and the third had lots of crazy foods!

Here are some photos of us

Chawech was lucky enough to catch a tomato when there was a tomato fight on stage!! Here is him and one of the actors. He was very lucky that he got to keep the tomato!!!

More sunflowers

Our sunflowers are getting huge and more and more flowers are coming out everyday.

Yesterday we measured that the tallest sunflower is 2.9m and the shortest one (that has a flower!) is 1.7m.

Thank you to Wellington City Mission!!

The Wellington City Mission gave us a whole pile of Chapter books for our school library! We are very thankful for their generosity.

We learnt that the Wellington City Mission helps people in our city who need food, clothes, shelter, and help.

There are 4 parts to Wellington City Mission

1. Mission for Youth - this is a school for high school students

2. Mission for Independence - this is a place where people come to get help (budgeting and food bank). Miss Kirkland's sister works there.

3. Mission for Older Folk - they help older folk out. They have a rest home in Titahi Bay called Kemp Home.

4. Mission for Families - they help families out who need some help.

Thank you Wellington City mission for your generous donation to our wonderful school library!!!
